Helpful Information

Meditation sessions and workshops are suitable for practitioners at all levels, including beginners, and both cushions and chairs are available for sitting. Regular practice sessions are generally held in Wenham every Saturday morning, from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, and every Wednesday evening, from 7:00 to 8:15 PM. First time visitors should contact michael@mahasatimeditation.org prior to attending a session in order to arrange an introduction to our practice. There is no formal charge to attend weekly meditation sessions or one-day workshops, though donations are gratefully accepted to help cover our costs.

Meditation and Dharma Talk with Chris Crotty @ The Center for Mindfulness & Insight Meditation

Chris Crotty will be guest teaching for this Wednesday’s meditation practice. Chris Crotty has practiced meditation since 1998. He has trained with Burmese monastics Sayadaw U Indaka, Sayadaw U Tejaniya and Bhikkhu Analayo, western monastics of the Zen and Thai Forest tradition, and senior western Vipassana teachers. Chris is a guiding teacher at Against the Stream, an adjunct professor in wellness and alternative medicine, and Hatha yoga instructor. To learn more about Chris visit www.contemplativewellness.org

Pre-Meditation Buddhist Chanting Practice @ Center for Mindfulness & Insight Meditation

Each Saturday we are offering an optional short Buddhist recitation practice prior to our regular meditation session. This offering runs from 9:15 to 9:25, and is for those who wish to place their insight meditation practice within the context of a broader and more explicit Buddhist path. At the same time, it is not necessary for you to see yourself as an adherent of the Buddhist religion in order to participate in this pre-meditation practice. Drop in sometime and see if it feels helpful for you.
