One-Day Retreat Led by Thai Forest Monk and Meditation Master, Achan Da @ Center for Mindfulness & Insight Meditation
Feb 24 @ 9:30 am – 4:00 pm

Thai Forest monk and meditation master, Achan Da will lead a one-day Mahasati insight meditation retreat, on Saturday, February 24, from 9:30AM – 4:00PM at the Center for Mindfulness & Insight Meditation. Achan Da has been teaching insight meditation for over 30 years. He currently serves as Abbott of our sister center, the Redding Center for Meditation/Wat Sati-Ma in Redding, CT.

Mahasati insight meditation uses attention to the movement of the body as a way to cultivate mindfulness. Mahasati does not require the adoption of any religious beliefs, and the retreat is suitable for both new and experienced meditators. While the day will be conducted mostly in silence, there will be talks by Achan Niphen and short discussion periods, in both the morning and afternoon. There is no formal charge to attend, but advance registration is required. To register, or for more information, email Michael@MahasatiMeditation.org.

Book: The Way of Liberation: A Practical Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Adyashanti, a 53-page book may be purchased or downloaded online for free at Adyashanti.org.

Description:
This study course guides you through an in-depth, transformational inquiry based on Adyashanti’s foundational book The Way of Liberation. It offers a series of recorded talks and dialogues (the 9 audio CD set has been purchased and will be available for our use), weekly readings, and written Q&A between Adyashanti and the original course participants.

With this self-guided course you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to work with The Way of Liberation teachings as an integrated whole.
  • Tap into the power that underlies your unique process of transformation, guided by Adyashanti insight and experience.
  • Uncover the often overlooked aspects of spiritual life that can keep you stuck psychologically and spiritually.
  • Become grounded in the essential foundations that support you to not only realize your true nature, but also to live it.
  • Understand and experience the core practices that have the greatest impact on your unfolding realization.
  • Avoid aimless practices and fleeting realizations by seeing the larger context of your process of awakening and liberation.
  • Experience how deep and powerful it can be when you engage with inquiry and meditation correctly, within a clear context of understanding.
